Vodafone becomes first IoT mobile provider to exceed 50 mn connections
NEW DELHI: Vodafone has emerged as the first global Internet of Things (IoT) mobile provider to exceed 50 million connections as of February 2017, the company said on Friday.
Machina Research and Gartner have identified Vodafone as worldwide leader in IoT services and managed M2M services respectively, for the year 2016.
The telco reported 870000 telematics subscriptions along with 1 million new IoT connections every month.
The company said that 30 automotive OEMs use its automotive services and 3 million automotive products were manufactured in 2016.
Karcher, Ford, Philips, Porsche are some of Vodafone’s clients.
