The Morning Download: Cloudera CEO Bets on IoT and AI – CIO Journal. – WSJ
Good day, CIOs. Not too long ago, the big deal, data-wise, was the emergence of architectures capable of absorbing and running analysis across huge troves of unstructured data. The volume of data and the pace of analysis have since picked up considerably as autonomous vehicles hit the road and more companies outfit their machinery with sensors. Last week Cloudera Inc. and Hortonworks Inc., two companies from that earlier age, announced they were teaming up to better compete with the giant enterprise information-technology providers. Cloudera CEO Tom Reilly stopped by the WSJ offices to talk with CIO Journal’s Angus Loten about the inspiration for the deal.
