CRA to focus on ‘Innovation in Regulation, Digital Development’ at ITU Telecom World 2018
Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) president Mohamed Ali al-Mannai is leading a high-level delegation to represent Qatar at the Telecom World 2018, organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Durban, South Africa, from September 10 to 13. This year the event will focus on innovations in technology, policy and strategy for smarter digital development and includes ministerial round tables and panel sessions to discuss innovation in spectrum policy and regulatory frameworks, new business models for new technologies in Internet of things (IoT), 5G networks, Industry 4.0, the creative potential, regulatory and ethical challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital citizenship, data security and e-skills. ITU allocates global radio spectrum and satellite orbits, develops the technical standards that ensure networks and technologies seamlessly interconnect, and strives to improve access to ICTs to underserved communities worldwide.
