Microsoft Warns Hackers Targeting IoT Devices to Breach Networks
August 06, 2019 – Russian-backed hackers were recently seen targeting poorly configured IoT devices to gain access to the networks of large organizations, seeking to find more valuable targets within the targeted system, according to Microsoft research released Monday.
Microsoft’s Corporate IoT – A Path to Intrusion outlines a series of attacks discovered by Microsoft’s Threat Intelligence Center. The researchers attributed the IoT cyberattacks to the hacking group known as Strontium or APT28.
