Samoan utility deploys IoT payment solution

Itron has signed a contract to deploy the OpenWay Riva IoT solution for Samoa’s Electric Power Corp. in efforts to improve electricity payment convenience.

Itron will deploy its OpenWay Riva IoT solution, smart meters and the Itron Prepayment Management Platform support system for the Electric Power Corp. in Samoa. The aim is to improve vending channels for prepaid electricity and increase awareness of the distribution system.

To minimize the length of the implementation process, Itron will host OpenWay Riva and IPMP and provide them as Software-as-a-Service ( SaaS) to the utility.
