PCTEL Unveils 900 MHz MIMO Yagi Antennas for Utilities and Industrial IoT | Business Wire

PALM SPRINGS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PCTEL, Inc. (Nasdaq: PCTI), a leader in Performance Critical TELecom solutions, announced at UTC Telecom today its 900 MHz MIMO Yagi antennas with dual polarization. The antennas are designed for use with MIMO or diversity radios in advanced Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and other Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications. PCTEL’s dual polarized antenna technology improves data throughput and reliability on both licensed and unlicensed spectrum.

“The Industrial IoT market’s rapid growth poses challenges for network reliability. For some Industrial IoT sectors such as utilities, the continuing rate of growth in wireless connections is putting significant strain on limited wireless spectrum,” said Rishi Bhardwaj, Senior Vice President and General Manager of PCTEL’s Connected Solutions group. “PCTEL’s Yagi MIMO antennas enable successful deployments of next-generation process control and monitoring systems, even as spectrum becomes more crowded.”

PCTEL’s MIMO Yagi antennas are designed to work seamlessly with the latest narrowband radios under demanding real-world conditions. Their high port-to-port isolation mitigates interference for optimal MIMO or diversity performance. The antennas’ robust mechanical design can withstand heavy ice, high wind and other harsh conditions. They are manufactured using high strength 6061-T6 aluminum and anodized for aesthetic appearance and corrosion resistance. In addition to the new 900 MHz model, MIMO Yagi antennas are available for 700 MHz and 800 MHz spectrum.

PCTEL will display its MIMO Yagi antennas and along with other antenna solutions for the energy and utility industries, May 8-11 at UTC Telecom & Technology, booth #831 and May 16-17 at the ENTELEC Conference & Expo in Houston, booth #312.
