Microsoft Report Shares Insight On Retail Adoption Of IoT

In case you haven’t heard, the internet-of-things (IoT) is a pretty hot trend in technology. A 2019 report from IDC, IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Industrial IoT Platforms in Manufacturing 2019 Vendor Assessment, predicts that we will have nearly 42 billion connected IoT devices by 2025, and that will generate more than 79 zettabytes-with a “Z”-of data. IoT means different things to different market segments, and the rate of adoption varies as well. Microsoft recently published an IoT Signals report that examines the state of IoT for the retail industry specifically.
