Gitex 2019: Dubai’s Dewa, China’s Alibaba ink MoU for AI, cloud, IoT
The agreement was signed by executive vice president of innovation and the future at Dewa, Eng Marwan Bin Haider, and Alibaba Cloud Intelligence’s international chief solution director, Daniel Jiang, at Gitex Technology Week 2019, which was held at Dubai World Trade Centre on 6-10 October.
According to a Dewa statement, the MoU will see Alibaba Cloud and Moro join forces to attract new customers and provide customers digital transformation and cloud services.
Commenting on the agreement, managing director and chief executive officer of Dewa, and chairman of Moro, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, said: “This step is part of our efforts to keep pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and leverage disruptive technologies to upgrade government services, devise long-term proactive plans and foster Dewa’s role in prospecting and making the future of energy and introduce a new digital future for Dubai.”
