IKEA The Perfect Partner For Xiaomi’s AI, IoT Mass-Market Push
As highlighted by our ‘Megatrends To 2050’ special report and our 2019 Key Themes outlook, disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) will become an integral element of most industries. The connected, or ‘smart’, home will prove to be an important testing ground for vendors of more consumer-orientated goods and services and a new partnership between lifestyle furniture-maker IKEA and Chinese smart device vendor Xiaomi is the latest in what will likely become a competitive market. As a starting point, the companies will integrate IKEA’s range of smart lighting products with Xiaomi’s Internet of Things (IoT) platform.
